DORMA is an international system supplier for door products. The company is a world market leader in door locking systems, mobile partition wall systems, automatic door systems and window hardware solutions. DORMA is also successful in the business field of safety engineering as well as time and access control and in particular Germany’s market leader in escape route technology. Major production sites are located in Europe, Singapore, Malaysia, China and North and South America. DORMA has around 6,200 employees worldwide. The internationally operating DORMA Group with 66 wholly-owned group companies in 45 countries is headquartered in Ennepetal.

Job:

Development of a product information system, which is designed to provide information about the products offered by the individual DORMA divisions in more than 20 languages on over 30 domains. The import of existing data is a basic prerequisite.

Solution:

The international website of DORMA Holding has been realised based on CMS Contenido by the agency four for business AG. Silver.solutions uses the powerful ECMS eZ Publish for creating the product database.

Currently, more than 1,600 products for 30 different international domains are managed in the corresponding local languages and idioms in the system. The catalogue is organised in 5 levels.

Editors of the individual countries can administer various information concerning the products. Standard contents, like product illustrations and product text are complemented with numerous downloads, like e.g. certifications, CAD drawings, installation manuals, product catalogues, bid invitation texts and the like.

The download overview enables an easy and direct retrieval of available documents in an easy-to-use file directory tree.
The database is administered by the editors and product managers of the individual countries. Selected administrators at the headquarter can access a back-end system, in which e.g. the access rights for users are determined and general settings can be performed.
